Now another pic of Snowdonia...the most magical country on Earth.

Once I was at "Druid's Hill"with my lady friend Jess (now deceased)....it overlooked a valley with a frozen lake...the temp was about minus 6 degrees, with a dusting of snow.

It was utterly beautiful, and you could feel an atmosphere ....the road there from Llanberis is quite dangerous, very narrow and lots of bends with a steep drop on one side.

As we looked across the valley....(now this is true,I swear)....a tin whistle started playing, just a sort of tune as if someone was making it up as they played...

We tried to find whoever was playing, looking behind rocks and bushes....but wherever we looked, there was no one....the sound was simply "here"...it stayed close by.....Jess finally said "Mike,we're being honoured....it's the mountain playing for us,to welcome us".....she once said "I feel priviledged and honoured to live here"...and I agreed.

Silly ?....no,this is the magic of Snowdonia.....the pic I'm posting is NOT of Druid's Hill.

Blessings........Mike ......

Wales

North Wales has lots of castles...the story of England finally defeating Wales to make a "United Kingdom".

They treated the Welsh people dreadfully....this is the showcase castle at Caernarfon...part of the English "ring of steel" that with other castles brought the English victory.

This is where Prince Charles was inaugurated as the "Prince of Wales"....but it was amusing....when I was in Caernarfon about three years ago, there were lots of flags flying in the town square...all the flags of Europe...but not a single Union Jack...good for them !!

Blessings .....Mike......

This is Criccieth Castle (it's proper Welsh name is "Cricieth" with one "C"....built by Llewellyn Fawr (the great) in the 14th or 15th century to defend against the English.....but what a pity history has to be so full of bloodshed.

It's a landmark as you go down into Cricieth ....a beautiful castle.
