We need to watch out about what we read in the web. Many of the content is misleading compared to a teacher, many things I might have learned online are kind of wrong.
To understand anything about buddhism we need a teacher for that specific vehicle; be it theravada, mahayana or vajrayana.
There are no teaching on the web ( there is info but...) well just clarify with a teacher

Where the Lotus petals white?
If they were, that might have been White Tara.

Happiness is the result of an enlightened mind whereas suffering is caused by a distorted mind.

The best Teacher is yourself, you learn through your personal experiences. Not everyone lives in Areas that have Teachers available to them so reading Online Teachings is valuable and you can join an Online Sangha. Read Sutras/Suttas, take what you need from them and put them into practice and your there

The best teacher is the one who knows. The web is not it as anyone can write on the web and it can be correct, distorted, wrong, or misleading.
A Guru is good karma, ask the spirits to bring you one.
You can do many things online but i'm not talking about web courses, I'm talking about web pages. A Guru is better and you learn faster, all the content is in one being that cames from one unbroken old linage, guru to guru to guru.
Having a teacher is something to be grateful for, as the one you have that wrote the sutras, the online teachings, etc. That came from a teacher not from you.

If you knew what they know you would say that.
But wisdom might be more appropriate

Exactly
Do not look for a Sanctuary in anyone but your self.
The Buddha.
