Here is a vid. that is very familiar to me in Spiritual language.(Castaneda's language seems vaguely foreign to me.)
I have a friend not hicuhol but Yaqui, he also uses a feather wand as they call it in the vid.I have not seen him in years.
Yes, many good prayers for the Huichols living the old way and watching over the Sacramental Peyote land.

I'll let you get back to your walls.

As Fikes points out, it is the special responsibility of the Wolf-shamans to communicate with Kumukemai (Father of the Wolves), who, along with Kauyumárie (Deer-person) constitute the central complimentary dyad of Huichol culture-heroes.
A bit like ancestral totemic moieties – where one needs to marry one’s complimentary opposite to keep the balance (?)

Can’t say I can warm up to that Peyote NAC music. It has no drums. ('Balance' - a bit like a flute and a drum).

Wow.
I can understand why Tlingits are upset about Secunda’s retreats on Tlingit lands.
“Shamanism is also part of Tlingit culture”.

No I don't no nothing about how it will go down.LOL
It appears that that guy turned to the Green Frog skin religion, Many do in one form or another.
Of course the whole video I posted could be a whole sham and a setup for his Foundation to give him some illusion of authenticity.

It still does not change my point. I relate to the language of the video more than I relate to what little I heard(audio book) from Castaneda.

No? It seems to me, that if people do not toe the traditional line (whatever the line it is?), they are (in general) claimed as frauds.

Now - toeing the general line – I found it curious, that Castaneda didn’t need to become a solid member of a tribal group (with its lifelong obligations and its privileges) first - before he was taught.

In the social (family or clan) shamanic sense – the Huihcol Deer Shamen conduct of behaviour – is easy to understand. But what do we know about the “Wolf Shamanism”?
Quote:
Unlike the majority of shamans who become consubstantial with Deer-person by eating his peyote-heart, singing, and performing communal rituals, the shamanism of the Wolves is practiced apart from the community.

When I was a child, the apprentice of a famous shaman (an old woman by then), was a hermit.
Personal history stories about her ‘miraculous’ healings were told, but nobody in the village she lived in actually knew her. In general, to the rest of the population, she remained a total enigma, whereas the shaman who taught her was a total extravert, who apart from his healings – became famous by challenging the invader’s rules and people’s perceptions of reality. The only thing that was ‘traditional’ was his tribe’s ‘shaman bird’ medicine bag he carried.

Some stories Castaneda told about this ‘Genaro-character’ are like leaves from ‘our’ shaman’s book, or perhaps from the book : “Aboriginal Men of High Degree” by A. P. Elkin.
Perhaps Castaneda had read about them in library? Who knows?

*

No matter how integrated or ‘married’ into Oz Aboriginal society or group, or how some of ‘our’ shamanic practices may have parallels – there is no way in the world, that I could ever become an Oz Aboriginal.
Even though Aborigines, hands down - in my experience - have been the most ‘non-dual’ people I have ever met! (but that is another level, as non-duality does not equate sameness of historical background nor race).
But you really do need a proven legal permission to talk about ‘Aboriginal culture’ (in general) though not the secret-sacred stuff, which you may or may not know.

But when “whites” integrate into Native American practices and knowledge, they seem to expect validation as “Amerinds”.
Why is that?
And where is the permission to legally speak for XYZ?
Because they think ‘practices’, 'knowledge' and ‘membership of a tribe’ equates ‘identity’ and gives them the right to speak for them?

I have no real experience of Wolf or Wolf Shamanism.
I have only experienced a few people which claim Wolf Spirit help.
So I can't really say anything on that subject.

Why is that?
I don't know why people do many things.
I was told once that "people always tell on themselves".

People do do a lot of talking.(Ha, I said doo-doo, which is what I think about many things I hear and see)
I am uncomfortable talking or writing about many things.
I can only speak/write for myself.

I would rather post clips of people speaking for themselves.

Thank you for the links.
Had previously seen that video and enjoyed his presentation very much, wishing their ways to continue.

Sort of funny though – how they look at the tipi and see it as beautiful Peyote Ceremonial Dwelling and I look at the tipi and see it as the Microcosm (of the Sky Dome, the World Pole, the Pole Star, the ‘Eagle Eye smoke hole’, the 3 Worlds etc.)
The tree in the picture I think, should be Spruce:
https://ibb.co/qRZVYc8

Then, since peyote can legally only be used by federally recognized tribes … apart from maybe financial support, health benefits etc. it makes me wonder if peyote use is part of the reason for ‘fake tribes’ seeking recognition?
