Mclintock was a classic.
I am surprised with today's standards John Wayne's movies are not all burned. In some of his earlier movies, he was a romantic chap. That aspect of him is very rarely seen.

so many old movies are not pc. i get shocked a lot when i watch old movies. i say, well that would never be made now days.

It's odd, a few years ago we were saying they would never show what we watch on the TV back then.

Doctor Smith's antics as his actions sent the Jupiter II into a region of Space the Robinson's family was not familiar with as portrayed in "Lost in Space". Will Robinson and the Robot would 'save' the day.

As a girl in the 60s we were not allowed to wear pants to school. In the winter time we could wear pants under our dresses but we had to take them off once we got to school. Schools were still pretty segregated where I lived in the South when I was in grade school in the mid 60's. But by the time I entered middle school in the 70's, they were integrated. And girls were finally allowed to wear pants to school.

Political Comedy shows like Laugh-In and the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour paved the way for shows like Comedy Central and Saturday Night Live. Variety shows were really big back in the 60's and 70's. Carol Burnett Show lasted 11 seasons from '67 to '78. It seemed like every pop star had a variety show. Glenn Campbell, Perry Como, Sonny & Cher, Donny & Marie Osmond all had them. The format was similar to SNL: a few skits followed by a musical number by the host and guest or just host.
Gasoline was cheap in the 60's -- $0.10-0.15 per gallon then in the 70's when OPEC was formed the price of gas doubled, tripled and more I remember it being $0.75 for a while in the 70's. $0.75 for gas sure would be nice now.
