If this new friend of yours knows that you already have a partner and yet acts contrary to this, then be aware of the choice you make.... people can be spiritual, wise and learned, but people are people and life is life and the play of life, it is the way it is.
I was once on a christian forum and I exchanged a few messages, I think 3-4 with a girl where I shared some of my insights and experiences, I do this with everybody, ha ha ha ha... This girl wanted a closer relationship but she was in a brand new marriage and I said no. If she would have been alone I would also have said no but the point is you know..
Would not be much easier to simply tell your current partner that things do not work as they used to and move on ( or try to make it work somehow ) and then if that is your choice attempt a possible relationship with this new friend? Then to keep going like this, your partner acts like usually people act when they feel their love threatened by another, they become jealous, not everybody, but usually happens.
How do you know the medium is true? The medium could have said the things you needed to hear based on your own input... you wanted your partner by your side but now things changed, try go again and see what it says.
