Is there any alternative to smudging like white sage to enhance divination?

I am in a place where smoke is not allowed and it's hard to find a place where I can smudge white sage. What I want is to use something like white sage smoke like a beeswax candle, but not sure if the beeswax candle is enough to replace white sage smoke. I need the protection, negative clearing, and divination enhancing effects.

I know of mugwort tea and wormwood but they are not what I am looking for and don't want to dream anything.

What I mainly need is for dowsing enhancement.

In my opinion, the only thing sage does is smell bad. Lol.

Use simple banishment in lieu of smudging for the protection.

Depending on your divination tool, you might need to set the stage. If it's Tarot or Runes, or something else that means what it means regardless of the environment, then no worries. If it's something like scrying, you might want to create more of a ritual space. The garb and trappings, wine in the chalice, are all meant to alter your consciousness. That's why you would want to engage all senses. If incense is a no-no, then maybe a couple drops of an essential oil you like.

I am only interested in dowsing accuracy. When I was able to use white sage smoke my dowsing accuracy skyrocketed. Like using the pendulum to spell my first and last name in exact order and other things like my friend's cell phone number passcodes(with their permission of course) in exact order straightly. I just want to know if there is an alternative way like a device to making the same effect like white sage smoke.

Nothing that I could think of, I'm not sure if I remember it right, but there's an item that can induce drowsiness/hypnotism to a patient. Not sure what it's name though.
