We think we begin each incarnation with a clean slate because quite logically we say we don't remember anything. That is a truth to us 100%. I use to absolutely see this. But is it an absolute. That is the feeling and suppose to be. Yet I point out the idea of past lives and karma, especially remembering them. We definitely need this clean conscious state. It is not a change just not remembering. I know I did. It allows change much easier in the physical state not to remember. One realizes information is lost (not available to the conscious side) to conscious but not the subconscious where it resides and that is where the information is, not as memory but information or its essence. It has always been recognized the essence remains as the essence of information. An example is Karma is not known consciously yet is when we find it through past life regression which accesses the subconscious. We find we can connect to it. The subconscious has everything a person will ever need and every bit of information about them. So I don't know if anything is lost we just don't access it. So people do or can remember if guided, so it must be within. Therefore how can it be lost if we can do these things?

Each life we start has a different purpose, in a minor way or a major way. I don't believe our higher selves see any purpose in retaining the same previous life personality. We want to try something different each time. That is not to say we won't remember certain aspects from previous lives but we do want to try new lessons and experiences.

I remember a number of my past lives but I did not bring the same issues, fears, etc., from them. In my previous lives, I have been addicted to alcohol and even drugs but in this life, I carry none of that. I already experienced it. I chose this life to be different.
