North Star

Wherever I go,

She is my anchor...

My north star.

I retain who I am on

This earth

No matter how far

She is from me.

My horizon is marked by death -

Only if she is no longer breathing.

My life comes to an end

Only when she no

Longer needs me....

No greater love than this...

My anchor to the living...

My north star...

I am lost only when

She is no longer breathing.

Autumn day in Spring
Brings the cooling taste of
Air dancing around my skin.

The air is thin and
My body is light -
There is no fight for courage.

Status Quo

A personal message for myself

Your mask falls down first, take it as priority number one.
Embrace each morning as your own as you rise to greet each new sun.

Balancing your needs before all else,
For otherwise time will tell only the story your crumbing, burning tower.

Pain rains down in a vicious shower,
your garden shall never flower
when your main focus is on those who wield all the power.

Turn your face to your own shrine,
dedicate your heart and mind towards that which is yours in authenticity.
Those other stories have never been told for you, they represent only the self - appointed, self important few.

Diversity is the majority, those who have historically represented the status quo are the minority.
Their rhetoric is not the right fit for you, so take your paints and create the path which is meant for you.

"Could our most redeeming feature
Be our lovely inner creature?
And let it free sometimes to roam
To help us find our way back home?"

Verse from "The Inner Creature" written by Michael Leunig which I read in the book "Carnival of the Animals".

----------------------------------------------

And so it's true today,
That life will be filled with
Sunshine and play -

I will spend each hour, in fact
Stomping in the mud to be exact,
Making mud pies for the flies
Inviting smiles to the corner's of my eye's -

I set to craft each day in humour,
To amuse the "lovely inner creature".

Me feeling happy having read Michael's simple little poem.

Dirty Laundry

No, I did not think that
Your dirty laundry proposal counted
For very much,

It was a little misguided and
Out of touch, so I set forth
A counter proposal -

I do not want to be bound
TO washing your dirty clothes or
Repairing your worn panty hose.

When everybody knows that I
No longer belong in your abode,
With your your dirty laundry.

I have my own clothes, my own laundry
Which I am free to clean and wash in my own fashion -
According to my own taste and style.

I am sure that you can understand,
Why in God's good name would you create such a demand?

Where both of us are bound together by laundry threads?
In a task which would cause us to both want to tear the
Other to shreds?

I have a notion to
Put forth a different motion -

I have my own laundry and you have yours too,
In a world where there is room for two laundries -
Let this be my laundry boundary -

Let us break these prisoner threads, in the form of
Taking personal responsibility for washing our own
Linen, T-Shirts and sheets for the beds...

The Status Quo dies when ONE fails to Thrive

It seems that I learn your way, in its shades of vanilla, grey and beige

Just as the world collapses and has to meet change.

So I fail to set sail in your world, as I try to obtain some truth...

About yours, however boring and pale...

Unpalatable and stale...

Yet in my failure to thrive as your world meets its demise
I rise up, where you hold on
To your truth as it crumbles... may we ALL have
Peace as we stumble...

I try to respect that which is left...

In spite of my distaste and detest!

Yet when I reflect on those times where I reached success...

It was the same times when your systems failed,

Those times when I cut my losses and bailed towards...

The unknown, where your future was lost and

Our future was insecure and TOGETHER we embraced

A future

Not set in stone...

Your time is forever lost and gone - and

I am not prepared to go on, singing your song...

Now it is my time to rise up and live on...

In a world where EVERYONE not just

SOME... have the right to THRIVE and be strong...

In a world where the song ensures

Everyone's

Right to live, to be loved, TO FEEL SAFE

And BELONG.

It seems to be clear to me that my main theme in life as a soul is to clearly identify the "I" in unIty and then loudly express it I am well aware of the duality this brings to my day to day experience of togetherness and isolation and the happy space there in between the two that my soul is learning. This merely reflects a greater universal lesson, one of CO - habitation where there is space for ONE and ALL to define their boundaries and togetherness.

To my parents - This is how to love me

See the child
For who she is and
Not the child who lives
Solely in your dreams.

Embrace the child and
Be what she needs,

Don't place the child in
The shadows and make her eat
Your sorrow.

Be what the child needs.
An unyielding presence -
In essence, be a safe place
Never take up her space with your
Projections, simply provide
Kindness, acceptance and protection.

Love the child for who she is,
Not what she could be and
Not what she has been.

Spend time with the child,
On her terms, she is not a threat to you,
You can still have yourself
and your space too...

There is room for two.
