heaven
This is the final weekend of the Labor Day Holiday period, the weekend after which, as an RVer, I would heave a sigh of relief as all the damn holidaymakers went home leaving us regulars to quiet campgrounds, less noise, less smoke from ridiculous campfires, more available sites and pull-throughs..... heaven!
Oh, by-the-bye you Americans, I've been wondering why I heard/read so little about the 19th anniversary of the 2001 attrocities in New York. I'm hoping there was much more on your news bulletins than I saw in ours or online.
It will be the 20th anniversary next year - wonder what our world will feel like then?

. I love camping! But would NEVER go during a busy holiday weekend for the exact reasons you mentioned. I go during the week much more peaceful!
As for the 9/11 anniversary. I don't know myself, I think the covid-19 and the elections stole the spotlight for anything else here.

Both here in the UK and over in the US I rarely venture forth on major holidays but we were full-timing in our RV and had nowhere else we could be unless we boondocked - and that wasn't our style.
It's perhaps understandable that the marking of 9/11 will become more a background issue with the pandemic problems and your election coming up soon. And many may not actually remember much about the events as they were young, some not born.
