Your statement reminds me of the passage in the Serenity Prayer about accepting the things that we cannot change.

I've read BOTH of those books and they were quite illuminating from a Christian perspective. The "Dark Night of the Soul" is quite formidable but one is encouraged once one gets even a glimpse of the LIGHT at the end of the tunnel.

God (the "higher power", the expanded consciousness,etc.) is indeed the greatest teacher.
