Any digital artists here???
Hi so I plan to buy a 12.9 inch ipad with 256gbs of storage with 8 gbs of RAM. Is this enough to have a smooth drawing experience without any lag??? I heard the more layers u have the more rams it’s chews up and slows down whatever drawing tablet u have.
Or maybe I should save up for the 1tb version??? As it comes with a 16gb ram.
Basically, I want to be able to create hyper realistic drawings without any lag.
Thanks a bunch!!

Technology speaking, when it comes to art and graphics and apps the more ram you have, the faster your experience is. The same is true for your computer. It's why they have special setups to play games. And for a time MAC was the leader in use for artists. I think these days the PC has caught up.
So when doing art, digitally, when you have a ton of layers on a piece, or a piece that is high resolution and stuff, you'd want more RAM to be able to seamlessly navigate it without lag.
Also to bare in mind if you plan to save a lot of stuff on your ipad you'd want more storage as well. But then the more you store and hoard the slower it gets.
I love my ipad pro, I digitally draw on it. And don't notice much lag, however, I don't go crazy with tons and tons of layers in my art. I'd go crazy trying to keep up and navigate them all. lol. Even it costs me extra time if i mess up on one of them.

Cool! Thanks for ur input inner light. I just found out that iOS 16 came with virtual rams. So I think 8gb should be more than enough for me
