She puts her core values over true love.

"Please, keep wanting to know God Himself...."

"Please, keep wanting to know God Himself, know Jesus and his words...
You don't have to be part of any organized religion to do that. Right?"

I guess you are right. But you are one of the few who seem to see it that way. I thank you for that.

My ex girlfriend, my family, and even a Pastor tell me that is not enough. They say I need to proclaim to the world that I am a believer and have accepted Jesus. I tell them that I don't feel the need to wear my spirituality on my sleeve.. and they do not agree.

Does it matter to you if they agree ? I personally wouldn't waste my time or energy discussing my life
and aspirations with them, do as you feel is right for you and leave the rest behind, there's plenty of more fish in the sea I hope you find happiness....

I think you're hanging out with the wrong people. They are imposing
their beliefs onto you...seems they don't have the wisdom God gives
to love Him and your neighbor, (the only 2 commandments Jesus told us to do)!
Each of us is on our own sweet path to Him...lol, even unconsciously, imo.

Be happy and free of anyone that wants to impose 'things' onto you, I say.
And especially, if you don't conform to what they want you to be.
I call it...swimming to the other side of the pool...that's all.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Cosmosis,

Actually you would be advanced in comparison to your friends if your spirituality was even more evident. As you describe it these friends are not spiritual but instead are religious fundamentalists. It is sola Scriptura taken to a literal extreme. They might deny it but I would guess that they are less than comfortable with the entire Gospel of John.

Read John 5:39-40.
Read John 3:3
Read John 14:12
Read John 14:16-17

John in all these verses presents the pleas by Jesus to become spiritual….the verse from John 5 particularly warning against total reliance on the Scriptures. The Scriptures present learned truth….which is good…but the Spirit is the door to personally experienced truth…..these 2 truths are 2 different things.

God condemns pre marital sex-1Cor 6:9-11--says fornicators will not inherit Gods kingdom. If you applied Gods will( Matt 7:21) over your own will, you may not have lost her. One must disown self to follow Jesus. Mark 8:34

Keiw,

Be aware of the difference between inheriting the kingdom and entering the kingdom…..two different things….
