Kind of, but this is where psychology and Spirituality part company for the majority of Spiritual people that think psychology and Spirituality are different/separation.

The inner voice is still 'you' or at least an aspect of 'you', depending on your beliefs. Your unconscious and your consciousness are in a 'symbiotic relationship' and even as you read this, everything is being 'processed' by your unconscious first. The 'result' of that processing is what you become aware of. The Jungian ego is like a 'gate-keeper' in that it 'filters' what you become conscious of. And I'm being horribly over-simplified here.

The Jungian ego has to maintain its grip on reality, otherwise you'd end up like a spaced-out space cadet. However, it can 'loosen' it's grip a little and this leaves 'room' for the inner voice to come through. Fear is your Jungian ego being scared of losing its grip, so make the voice into a friend quite literally if that helps you.

It's really about integrating aspects of your self - as opposed to yourself. Your Jungian ego and your intuition are aspects of your self.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

I have had this most of my life
It is a voice of somebody in the world in the world of spirit and they're taking you for your own safety they are giving advice as well I took me a long time I realise that
At first I thought where and earth did that come from sometimes it was only me about but nobody about invoice high heard where did that come from
Don't be afraid of it that inner voice is helping you give you advice
If only I'd listened to it 30 years back on more than 5 years but I'm more 25 years back and war and 20 years back and more my life would have been a different story

I know what you mean, dream jo. Thank you, trying to listen to it as I regret not listening to it years ago

Thank you. Sometimes a reminder is all that's needed.

This is one of the barriers you're creating for yourself, regret is not conducive to inner voice and this will cause the inner voice to 'shrink' until you can no longer hear it. Deafness is something you'll definitely regret.

Learn the lesson, move on. Give yourself something constructive to work with.

The most Spiritual thing you can do is forgive yourself, everything else pales in comparison.
