Based on what we've been told both by those living 'over there' and by teachers/guides it ain't that way at all.

After we pass over we're very much the same individuality we were before we left and again based on teachers' guidance, we remain that way well into the future. When we're again fully-functioning after our transition from incarnate to discarnate life we can choose what we want to do next and at some future point we'll consider whether another lifetime as a physical being would benefit us.

To all those who said you would not come back, what would make you want to reincarnate?

Apparently,I first incarnated here 4000 years go then left for other worlds/Universes, I incarnated here again to help someone. That has now been completed. After seeing all the sorrow,hardship,grief,greed etc I would never incarnate here again.

Not because of anything bad, but because I feel that we need to keep on moving, going forwards, evolving and learning in life. I believe that this is what happens as well. All that there is gets recycled. You can call it re-incarnation if you wish - or born again - but the only deciding factor of how, why and when is known as evolution.
There is no magic timetable hovering in the background keeping track of your thoughts and actions. It doesn't matter one iota to the universe if you've been a good boy or girl - it gets on with turning chaos into order.

Returning for another incarnation - let's avoid using the often-problematical word "reincarnation" - isn't simply returning either to a past life and/or a previous persona. I think some believe they'll come back more-or-less the person they presently are but in a different life.

My preference is to think of the process as more akin to being an actor - we are always the same individual but the part we play in a production changes. To others we're unknown but some are aware they've played other parts in other 'productions' (lives). Our first incarnation (role/part) may be a simple one reflecting our inexperience and our experience grows with every performance. (lifetime) Each subsequent lifetime enables us to try a more challenging part - should we choose.

We don't ever go spiritually backward but we may stand still or make little progress during a particular incarnation. It will depend on what we experience and learn from it.
