Sunflowers have long been my favourite flower... as it is for many. I have a lizard tattoo, both things follow and soak up the sun.

What is the war within?

Is it the same to the war outside?

Conquer, shame and divide,

Rather then understand, stand with self and

Unite...

All that suffering from within...

I wonder,

Where does peace begin?

Now, draw closer, all that suffering...

At war with each other, surrender into the fray,

Let compassion gently sway our hearts without delay,

towards the sun, from the heart,

We will not conquer, we will not betray,

Rather,

We will make peace from fragmented self

To become,

fused self, perceive all as self and

All as one.

Hi Red Embers, thanks for your lovely poem and story. I always wanted to get a dolphin tattoo on my shoulder, I love to swim, and I love water.

I put up the sunflower because it is the national flower of Ukraine, my heart goes out to them.
The war without, and the war within, I get that. Another Hitler has come, attacking his perceived demons, how Ironic.
Yet demons have always been with us.

I have seen that China has only been sending medical aid to the Ukrainians. They are against the war and recommend a peaceful solution if possible? The US wants to see Vlad suffer a regime change, they want to take him down, how many times have they done this, so many other proxy wars they supported to no gain and Russia plays the same game. And the US, they are threatening China to come to their aid and Russia wants their support too, Lol. Good thing they are a bit more level-headed.

The USA is evil too, have their own oligarchs,.... and if you keep poking a bear, it will fight back. Bears are bears, in the past and the present. This one has just come out from a long hibernation and is hungry once again.

Political potatoes, anyone have another view without getting to political.. my mother says it's just Hitler all over again, history repeats.. hopefully, we have gained some wisdom to deal with this madness. I'm watching China to see if they move more one way or another. I feel so sorry for the Ukrainians, they are just a pawn in a much larger fight. This is why Europe is concerned, about who will be next.

This time it will be armageddon.
