What's your favourite time travel movie?

Anyway, seeing as you've mentioned Pooh, wise one he is. I'm sure you've read the Tao of Pooh, he's got his own version you know. I've not read it yet though.

As far as movies about people who go back in time, I suspect it is the scientific bent of mind that tends to get in my way. I keep wanting to analyze them and find the logical inconsistencies and theoretical flaws. I suppose if I wish to really travel backwards in time I must wait until this life is over and a new one begins.... of course I probably won't know I have done this during that lifetime any more then I do in this one, but perhaps that is for the best. Sometimes a fresh perspective is a good thing.

I do have a copy of Mr. Hoff's book around here somewhere. And yes, I do talk to myself a good bit these days, fewer arguments when I do that. As far as time travel goes, I do feel I travel though time when watching Forest Gump live out his life through the span of history. Of course, there are many good documentaries on history (natural or human) that allow me to travel backward in time as well, but somehow they lack something experiential that the fiction provides. And of course, there is nothing like a few Chapters of Pooh to take me back decades in time to a life that at least from today's perspective seems so much more simple, magical, and full of the future. Every time I read that last Chapter in "The house at Pooh Corner", I am a bit saddened and regretful that I never really said goodbye, I just sort of wandered out of the woods and didn't realize I had left before it was too late.

Yes, when you look at it like that you are time travelling.

What you wrote in the last line is heart wrenching. Made me think about something I read that said mostly we don't realise when we do things for the last time. Probably a good thing.

I can't say I recall reading that, but I will look it up. I do believe I have tasted a beer called the velveteen habit though, probably doesn't count, but it was very tasty. Yes we probably don't realize when doing things for the last time.
