Becoming Omnipresent

Just wondering if one ascends in order to become omnipresent or is it only God who can be or is omnipresent? Do you what that would entail maybe?

Is it a matter of becoming or realizing?

Omnipresent

In spirituality God is the only one everywhere and everytime. There is nobody other than God . All we see are His manifestations with typical characteristics .

Shoni7510,

You can’t have one without the other….in other words I think one would also have to be omniscient and omnipotent…..and if there is one that is omnipotent He could prevent anyone else from being omnipresent….

I'd say it depends on the perspective of the tradition followed. For instance in the context of non-duality these is only God (Brahman) and we are It and It is us (and everything else). So ultimately there isn't anyone or anything aside from God. Without a second...

My previous post is from that perspective in that one doesn't become what one already is. One only need Realize what one is.

To me the question seems much more difficult to answer from the perspective of duality. I don't even know how to begin to form an answer.

The nature of form is limitation. If we identify with form then we identify with limitation.

The nature of formlessness is limitlessness. If we identify with formlessness then we identify with limitlessness.

The Self is formless and thus exists without limits. Realisation of the Self is the realisation of formlessness pervading all form.

Peace

And what iamthat just said.

A story in Donald Walters book (known as Swami Kriyananda), one of the original
devotees of Parmamhansa Yogananda..in the 1940-50s.
...........
The master told all very clearly no hitchhiking.
But Donald, at the time a young guy in the ashram in Calif, did anyway up to LA , I forget why...
He was picked up by 2 creepy guys, that thought it would be fun to bring him into their world of thuggery/crime.
So they turn down a dirt road to a farm house and knock on the door. (planning robbery and more) So after awhile
no answer so they leave....
Who knows what the more was.

When Donald got back to Encinitas, he was told Master was asking for him as they called Yogananda. It went like this:
Didn't I tell you not to hitchhike? Do you know how much it took to get
that couple to not hear the knocks?

So there you have that story, shoni.
If you have read ''The Autobiography of a Yogi''...you will see many stories you would be very interested in. Very inspiring.
I find younger people have not read it. Maybe you have.

(I know of about 5 members here older than me.
So most here I think of as younger.) :)

Oh - highly recommended: Baird Spalding's books (6 in the Volume ---esp first 4 read.)
Just to show you the cover...

How about sit in total stillness and silence for hours and hours and hours hours a sitting for perhaps years and decades.
Forget anything at all about this material plane - even yourself, your body, your name, your gender, your thoughts, your ceiling.
That is a start. A good start!!
And keep pure in every way.

I guess that makes me one of the oldies.

They've been sitting on my bookshelves for years - I must get around to reading them. So many books, so little time.

Peace
