Well, it’s always been my nature to take chances

My right hand drawing back while my left hand advances

Where the current is strong and the monkey dances

To the tune of a concertina

Blood dryin’ in my yellow hair as I go from shore to shore

I know what it is that has drawn me to your door

But whatever it could be, makes me think you’ve seen me before

Angelina

Oh, Angelina. Oh, Angelina

His eyes were two slits that would make a snake proud

With a face that any painter would paint as he walked through the crowd

Worshipping a god with the body of a woman well endowed

And the head of a hyena

Do I need your permission to turn the other cheek?

If you can read my mind, why must I speak?

No, I have heard nothing about the man that you seek

Angelina

Oh, Angelina. Oh, Angelina

In the valley of the giants where the stars and stripes explode

The peaches they were sweet and the milk and honey flowed

I was only following instructions when the judge sent me down the road

With your subpoena

When you cease to exist, then who will you blame

I’ve tried my best to love you but I cannot play this game

Your best friend and my worst enemy is one and the same

Angelina

Oh, Angelina. Oh, Angelina

There’s a black Mercedes rollin’ through the combat zone

Your servants are half dead, you’re down to the bone

Tell me, tall men, where would you like to be overthrown

Maybe down in Jerusalem or Argentina?

She was stolen from her mother when she was three days old

Now her vengeance has been satisfied and her possessions have been sold

He’s surrounded by God’s angels and she’s wearin’ a blindfold

And so are you, Angelina

Oh, Angelina. Oh, Angelina

I see pieces of men marching, trying to take heaven by force

I can see the unknown rider, I can see the pale white horse

In God’s truth tell me what you want and you’ll have it of course

Just step into the arena

Beat a path of retreat up them spiral staircases

Pass the tree of smoke, pass the angel with four faces

Begging God for mercy and weepin’ in unholy places

Angelina

Oh, Angelina. Oh, Angelina

Yes i think Free Hugs is a great name for this thread! This place can't leave!...something needs to stay the same for a bit. Please keep writing as i enjoy reading. This place feels more like my home planet than it does out there.

Do you write Tullyquinn11?

I am glad that this place is staying too as a comfort for those who need it. I experienced alot of sudden growth and expansion with the announcement of the forum closure along with some other events in my life. It sent my energy into a bit of a hyperactive spin.

I can feel myself winding down here just a little bit. Something is calling out to me which I need to honour.

Was just listening to the song 'Sara' from the Desire album. Another great album.

[Chorus]
Sara, Sara
Whatever made you want to change your mind?
Sara, Sara
So easy to look at, so hard to define

[Verse 4]

I can still hear the sounds of those Methodist bells
I’d taken the cure and had just gotten through
Staying up for days in the Chelsea Hotel
Writing “Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands” for you

[Chorus]

Sara, Sara
Wherever we travel we’re never apart
Sara, oh Sara
Beautiful lady, so dear to my heart

Just some of the lyrics but all of the lyrics in this song are golden. A beautiful bitter sweet panoramic masterpiece of a song. Thanks.

Isis is a like all the rest, mesmerizing.

I'm not cutting off my hair but I am heading up to the wild unknown country..

Tomorrow...

Ever dance with a wild bear?

One came into my camp site, the middle of no where... and looked me in the eye, eye to eye.

I blew my air horn, and off he/she? ran, I also had my pepper spray in hand!!!

And I have a hunters knife. Lets hope it never comes to that...

My ex left me for a woman, again and again, how do you fight that?

Pepper spray?

Had it been a man my anger would have been harder to manage.

Shes happy, great, I'm happy too.

It's Bear country..

Help me with this one,

My son has High Fuctioning Autisim, he's 23. I don't know how I fit into his picture of life, but I know he wishes he had other friends! A woman friend would be nice!

But you know, he is stuck with me, and he loves me, I know, and I love him so Im Ok with him around.

I feel his pain, his frustration, and I need to keep balanced around him. A loving father, I am.

How do I help him?

He loves camping with me, see you all in a few weeks.... your like my sounding board.

Nowayout: I do not have any wisdom to offer but I can offer hugs

It is pretty evident in the way which you express yourself that you really love and value your son. Try not to undervalue your presence in his life. I am certain that he appreciates your presence more than you may even know.

I wish I had some wisdom to offer but I do not as I too struggle with my own version of a nuerodiverse community of humans! It might be a case of the blind leading the blind.
I really value the support I recieve from my loved ones which allows me to lead a life which is somewhat "normal" for me.
They love and accept me for who I am which gives me some confidence to branch out into the world in my own way when my energy allows. It means the world to me. We help each other as best we can.
That is all I really know on this topic: love, acceptance and encouragement.

I hope that you do have a nice time on your trip with your son and do not need to activate the air horn to scare away the bears. I also hope that you find the answers which you seek, some way, some how.

I grew up with the poetry of this man. Often his work was recited in my home:

This one frequently recited to me is called "The Ghost". I used to hate listening to this stuff haha. It was soooo boring and irrelevant at the time but means something to me the older I get.

The last verse of "The Ghost" written by Henry Lawson.

'Heed him not! There is truth and friendship in this wonderous world',
She cried,
And of those who cleave to virtue in their climbing for
For renown,
'only they who faint or falter from the height are shaken down',
'At a cynics baneful teaching let your lip be scorned and curled',

'Brotherhood and love and honour!' Is the motto for the world'.
