Rituals - Right and Wrong

when a person's soul leaves the body, he/she is declared dead. After leaving the body, what happens to that soul? what is the condition of that soul? where does it go? in most of all the belief systems there is a custom at 40th day of the death. Why is that ritual performed? Does anyone have anything to say about? please share.

From a previous post:

From all that I have read on the subject, the experiences that people have after the death of the physical body vary.
  • Those who are more developed with some understanding of what to expect will automatically find themselves on whichever astral plane resonates with their own vibrations.
  • Those who have been through a long illness or whose mental faculties had deteriorated while in the body will go to a place of healing where they can rest. Once their energies have been restored they will be led to the appropriate astral realm.
  • Those with strong religious beliefs may find themselves in an astral heaven which corresponds to their beliefs, surrounded by others of similar beliefs. They may think that this is their end goal for eternity, but eventually they want something more and they move on to other astral realms.
  • The average person may be initially confused by their new surroundings but eventually they meet a guide or a family member who helps them acclimatise.
  • Those who have led lives of deliberate violence and harm may find themselves on a lower astral plane surrounded by others who led similar lives, and their new existence may be rather unpleasant.
  • Those who disbelieve in any after-life may not realise they have died so they remain on the earth plane wondering what is going on and why everyone is ignoring them.
  • Or some may realise they have died but they are unwilling to move on from the earth plane because of family attachments etc.

I am not sure what custom you are referring to. Which belief system is this?

Peace

Rituals are how we condition ourselves and how we are conditioned determines what
happens to us after the death of the human body. “If my heart weighs more than a
feather then I carry to much weight.”

Too much weight may impede soul travel to the greater levels. We condition ourselves
with what we say, think, and do, or thoughts, words, and deeds. That is why spiritual
surrender, or letting go especially inside, is so important.

Rituals are all around us and people assign all sorts of meaning to them. Muslims believe
the body should be buried right away, some religions only believe in cremation, etc.
Funerals are for the living not the dead, they allow the living to grieve and practice their
faith in regards to the afterlife.

Rituals hold and important place in this physical creation. Electrons whirl around a nucleus,
the moon whirls around the earth, the earth with its sister planets follow a set pattern
traveling about the sun, and the entire universe moves in and orderly ritualistic progression.

The entire universe is a cosmic dance of life, a ritual keeping contact with all of its parts
through the ceremony of ritualistic motion. Even the expression of love is dependant on
the ritual of courting or dating, showing signs of affection, etc. We all participate in rituals,
in social gatherings, organizations, holidays, anniversaries, etc., are done according to a
particular culture. Rituals are performed as a bridge in and attempt to join things together.

It’s all belief. And do I imagine your reality forms the view whether as life or death.

The 40th day symbolism relates to Jesus ressurection or ascension into heaven so many other belief systems or rituals have created their own understandings of the spirits travels after death.

Many of those beliefs relating to 40 day time frame dedicated to the persons travels, from life to other dimensions to their ‘home’..

I hear of people having visitations and seeing the loved one in the family home, so perhaps like us they are letting go, even as they have left their body. Maybe it’s a projection from others beliefs. I’m not sure.

Different people have various abilities to tap into the spirit world, so through each piece their seems to be processors still going on even in ones passing. I suppose this would be dependent upon the one who has passed and what they have opened to in their own streams on earth.
