I still stand by what I wrote there, as (probably) does the Noble Knight. However, you and I can always agree to disagree - very amicably, of course!

Pine Martens have been reintroduced into the hills of Carmarthenshire to keep the number of Grey Squirrels down (and which were about to eliminate Red Squirrels from the their last strongholds). The project has only been running for a couple of years, but already Red Squirrels are making a comeback. Young Martens have been spotted 50 or so miles from the release site, so the Marten is doing well too. Better to control Grey Squirrels this way than shooting or trapping them.

The Canadian Lynx was reintroduced into Colorado some years ago. The effort has met with mixed success.
