The Papal Bull - The Doctrine of Discovery helped to understand it, though it doesn't excuse it.

Very apt name ' Bull '...... Rampaging and destroying everything in their way. That's what we expect from our beautiful wild Animals but Humans should know better....

That was a lovely story ImthatIm.

We did not associate “The Devil’s Fields” – those rocky areas with Thunderbird nests.

The Eagle on the World Pole – representing Totality and the Thunderbird on the ‘World Mountain’ representing the power/energy aspect of that Eagle.

‘To do something greater than yourself’ – was re-enacted as everyone bringing their twig to the collective heap (to serve Totality) – which was then set in fire: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PP2KTDpDbx...o-nu/kokko.jpg

The Eagle is whom we send prayers/actions to – the Thunderbird is the messenger from Totality, or the Essence or the Creator.

Every Shaman was awakened - initiated – and given empowerment by this Eagle/Thunderbird.

So the stories are somewhat similar.

"Stories are somewhat similar"

Yep, similar yet different. I enjoy the differences among the similarities.
There must be 1000s if not millions of different Thunderbird/ Thunder Being/ Thunder & Lightning teaching stories from around the world.
I would listen to them all if I could.
Still each has to have their own relationship with the Thunders.
When in the midst of dying due to the storm the stories fall away.
