Is it disrespectful if inappropriate thoughts pop up while praying to an angel?
I am sure they can overlook any kind of "disrespect".
The angelic simply act on what is needed for your soul to progress. This can make you happy, or frustrated, angry, wild and many other things. After all, you have the emotions, they don't. All that matters, is the progress of the spirit/soul complex.

Some teachings state the opposite. The various Deva kingdoms are on their own stream of evolution, parallel to the Human evolution. We Humans are an expression of Divine Will, the Deva kingdoms are an expression of Divine Intelligence.
So on the physical plane there are the elementals and the devas of nature, which are sometimes called fairies in their various forms. Then there are the elementals and devas of the astral and mental planes which we might call angels. Then there are the great Devas of the spiritual planes and beyond which we might term archangels.
So all the worlds of form are manifestations of Devic Intelligence. They provide the field of experience for human growth. And these devic intelligences are on their own cycles of involution and evolution, with their own hierarchy of development.
Thus one of the tasks of Humanity is to learn to work in conscious cooperation with the worlds of Deva.
So say various teachings.

Hehehehe sounds like mischievous fairies messing with you. That's what I call it anyway.
From an atheist perspective it's the ADD symptoms that come with my autism *yawn*. But I prefer fairies, it makes me giggle.
Just apologise for the interruptions from the pesky thoughts
