"Feeling" Sounds While Meditating? ?
Is it possible to feel sounds while meditating? I'm not sure if this is what's happening or if maybe the sounds are kind of startling me. When I hear something while I'm meditating I get like a tingly/butterfly feeling mostly in my stomach, but in other areas of my body as well. Anybody have any thoughts about this??

The senses are separate like a sight isn't heard, or a sound isn't seen, but they all come through the nervous system, so everything has a feel to it.

I've not experienced exactly what you are describing, but i have "felt sounds" before when rising out of slumber and I believe the fact that I was not completely conscious was the reason for this. I don't have an explanation for it but you aren't alone in feeling sounds

93,
This is just your body relaxing, that's what meditation tends to do.

Yes. Light, sound, and feelings are all vibrational energies. The science of vibrations says that vibrations applied to the something with the same natural frequency with cause resonance. The sound is simply resonating your internal energy/feelings. When we are in a meditative state, we are much more sensitive to the resonances.
Different frequencies are associated with different levels/chakras of the spinal column. The solar plexus/stomach resonates at the key of E. You can listen to sounds for different chakras online and they will vibrate you differently.
Music is a great example of sound vibrations resonating our feelings. Sad songs make us feel sad while positive songs make us feel happy. Great musicians have mastered the art of sound frequency and resonance and is why people like Mozart are so good at what they do.
I live in an area where airplanes are constantly flying over head (really annoying). When I meditate, the plane engines are so powerful that the literally shake my entire body causing a great release.
