God is not yourself, yourself is yourself. You pray to God who is beyond yourself.
You don't become "one" as being God, God's spirit enters you, and you become one with God's spirit. Define one with God?
A Buddhist/Hindu view may differ and declare you are God? What do you think Morlearer?
Are you God?

Nowayout,
You seem to answer your own question in post # 6….’one in the spirit’. The same as being part of the body of Christ in 1 Corinthians. Part of the confusion comes from the Catholic understanding of soul and spirit being synonymous. |

My opinion is if you Prayer you pray to something that is beyond yourself.
If i prayer i pray to the creator.
it all depends on who you believe in.
