Anxious at dusk
Terrified by dawn
--Watching the ballet of dread imagining
And finding myself dancing.

Why relate this?
--to let you know.
--and to remind myself--
That the shape of lives
May be sculpted by circumstances beyond the control
Of we who live them.

--and yet leave us feeling often justified
To judge so much
When in reality we know so little
--of ourselves
or others.

Itself
Bought off the shelf
With little hesitation
Or contemplation
Of how

It came to be there
Perhaps to scare
Or maybe snare?

Only digging deeper
Shall we find
What ignorance
May have in mind.

being confident of things
they actually know nothing about
and getting rewarded for it

what is the point?

lack of ignorance
not so much

everyone likes a confident soul

but boy do they cause

May seem to stand
On common ground
In our thought process.

But a little digging
Reveals the foundation
As a mixture
Of bedrock and
Shifting sand.

For while questions
Will often be
Attempts to reveal truth,
Answers may--
With good intent
Or otherwise--
Seek
To obscure truth.
