Looking at yourself in a mirror...
...and looking at yourself on a video recording.
Does anyone else feel that they look totally different when they see themselves in a video recording, to the person they see when they look in the mirror?
When I look at myself in the mirror, I guess I'm (kinda) okay with the way I look, I can accept myself. But when I see myself on a video recording, I think about how horrible I look, it's as if the "me" in the mirror is a totally different person to the "me" in a video recording...
Has anyone else ever experienced feelings like that?

Mrs Craig; another drop of gin?
yes, I get that too, it is more of a seperation between who you think you are and what you are seeing, for me.
It is like you don't usually think of yourself in the 3rd person, your not used to seeing yourself from a different perspective, in another timeframe.
The mirror is different though, it still holds that you know that you are you, if that makes sense? It is in the present so you understand that that is really you.
Apparently if you stare into the mirror for an extended period you will come to a greater understanding of who you are and you will be more self-concious (in a good way) and more self-aware. I have never tried this cause mirrors scare me, lol.
