The Golden Rule predates even Moses, but where is the world into which only those who obey the Golden Rule are allowed to enter, wherein they inherit everlasting life?

And where is the place reserved for those who refuse to help and care for their fellow man and the environment in which they live? See Matthew 25: 31-46, and Revelation 21: 5-8.

Just wondering…..is there any significance in the fact that Moses was the first and only man that literally broke all the Commandments at once ? Scripture tells us that the first commandments were written by God’s own hand. Moses, under the instruction of God, inscribed the replacement set. If the Mona Lisa had been destroyed and da Vinci instructed a protege to paint a copy would it be the same thing ?

the word 'Commandments' was 'added' to the Bible later on. The Expression 'Ten Commandments' appears to have been added later.

They were never part of the Bible let alone used by Moses.

They were the covenant that God made with his people, If Kept, his people would live.

The Pharisee asked Jesus what he must do to inherit everlasting life, and Jesus replied; "Love God with all your body, mind and soul, and love your neighbour as yourself, do this and you will live, for the complete Law is fulfilled in those two commandments.

Or, as Paul, who realised that you cannot say that you love God and yet hate your brother who God has become, said in Galatians 5: 14; "For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this 'ONE' command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (For you cannot say you love God and yet hate your neighbour. To love your neighbour as yourself is to love God who has become all that exists)

Do you remember which verse in the 10 Commandments said you would die ? And was death the penalty for eac law ?,

If you look at the Law completely, each of the first 10 Law violations could end up being a Capital sentence.

The Jews before Jesus, believed that to break one letter of the black and white written letter of the law was sin deserving of death.

Jesus speaking to his disciples of the spirit that he would send, says in John 16:8-9; "When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; etc."

Paul speaking in the spirit of the Lord, reveals that obedience to the written letter of the law can only bring death.

Two men, both having access to a rifle, witness a Psychopathic murderer in a school yard butchering little children who are trying to escape him, one man, fearing he will lose his immortal soul if he breaks the written law and kills that man, does nothing. While the other out of love and compassion for those terrified children, blows the head off the psychopath. Which of the two would be condemned by God?

For I tell you now that you can lie, there is a time to steal,
There is a time to disobey, there is a time to kill.
There is a work that 'MUST' be done, upon the Sabbath day
No one who understands the Lord would teach another way
For the Spirit judges not on what you do
The heart and soul of man He searches through,
It's the reason why the deeds of man are done
This is what the Lord God judges on.

It is not the letter of the law that we must obey, but the spirit of the law.

Born Roman Catholic here, raised around the Jehovah witnesses. Love them both equally but choose to walk the Roman Catholic faith.
