I'm stuck

How do I...get results from meditation? I have been trying for a good amount of time and nothing is coming out of it, I'm always stuck in the fully awake state!

Keep trying. And when you've done that, keep trying some more. Afterwards, keep trying and, finally, keep trying!

Some people have a 'meditative experience' the first time, for some people it takes months or even years. The benefits of practice are still many even if you don't believe you have found results. Stop focussing on the results, on achieving and just surrender to the experience. It will happen eventually.

One final note: keep trying!

In this case I think persistence and patience are very valuable.
What method do you use?

Stay awake, don't fight the awakeness. Allow the awakeness to be and listen to what is coming through - it may be that you are kept awake for a reason?

what meditation/method are you doing/practicing. If you describe what your doing I might be able to offer some suggestions of how to improve things.

What you truly seek

What is your intention for meditating ?

In essense, meditation is about quieting the mind to move one's awareness into the present moment. In that sense, it sounds to me that you are attempting to emerge into a mentally visualised trip.

While there is nothing particularly wrong about that, I would rather encourage you to silence the mind. Because the mind itself is not really a path to enlightenment, as self-realisation and wholeness. In other words, if you entertain the mind, you participate only with what is of the mind, as consciousness. But who you really are is not of consciousness, nor the mind.

To illustrate the composition of this, the self that you perceive as you in this moment is a point of awareness that extends from your spirit, whereas your spirit is the true expression of who you really are, as love, oneness, source. However, this point of awareness is enclosed within the mind consciousness system that you perceive yourself to be, which was designed to create an illusion of separation from your god-self, to be focused within this strictly limited mind consciousness reality of thoughts and emotions in the setting of a polarity game.

If you can grasp this, I would say that what you are ultimately looking for, starting with your meditation, is to be reunited with your spirit, which is actually one with you as the core of your being, because you cannot actually be separated from your origin. It is the equivalent of the love and the fulfulment that you ultimately seek, because these qualities comprehend the natural state of your being, when you are aligned with your heart, spirit, source. In other words, the mind, as the construct that created the experience of separation in the first place, leading you to this place of searching, can never truly compensate for its very purpose, as the experiences of what appears to be love and fulfilment through the mind are of a polarised nature and conditional to circumstances. However, it is also essential that we maintain our well-being to the extent that we can, while we are still operating from within this creation, so it shouldn't be condemned either. This is just to illustrate the most basic inner workings of our present life experiences.
