Unhappy Reading Tarot cards

I started learning how to read cards back in 2000 when one person advised me to use the card as window that you open and look through to contact the spirit that comes to help you provide answers for the person you are reading for. For about 10 years with the help of my spirit guide I became a successful online reader.
For reasons that I prefer not to share at this point, I started to close every door on my tarot reading, I stopped cleaning my chakras, I suppressed my empathic abilities and turned the volume down in my mind so that I could no longer hear my spirit guide, my animal guide, spirits or the archangels.
At the beginning of this year I started working through my deck card by card using a small booklet written by one of the most globally renowned author, tarot reader and creator. It's taking me a long time getting through the whole deck because too many times I pushed the cards away.
The wall around me is thick and high.

We all go through cycles. I have moved away from tarot only to return again, but I maintain using other tools, like meditation, etc., even if I am taking a break from Tarot. Tarot has been and invaluable tool for me, and I know my readings are only going to be as accurate as I am humble enough to access those readings. Therefore I say a prayer before I do any readings and I do most readings on myself and not others. Tarot practice, in my opinion, is a prayer and a meditation; you ask a question or make a request, and then meditate as you throw out the cards and interpret them.

I learned how to read Tarot cards many decades ago. What kept me interested is that I purchased a tarot deck that needed to be colored. The deck came with coloring instructions and why certain colors were being used, etc. I colored all 78-cards that was in that deck using water colors. You can use crayons, paints, or any other coloring medium. I learned a great deal about the Tarot by coloring one deck and it motivated me to practice tarot readings.

I ended up coloring three different decks over different periods of time. The decks were all different sizes. I enlarged the deck that needed to be colored before I began coloring it. I had 12x8 inch cards, which made the coloring much easier, and I still have that large deck of cards today. I followed a graduated way of reading the cards, where I would learn different ways to read and use the Tarot cards. I studied the Qabbalistic Tarot and also the Rider-Waite deck.

Hi Mystlyn.... As Starman said, we all go through "peaks and troughs " with our "spiritual" side.... I myself reading for about 20 years ... Have pushed the cards away as I am not in the "right frame of mind"... And sometimes, just sometimes, it is necessary to do that.... Without knowing why you have chosen to push it away it's hard to advise a little more... ( And I'm NOT asking!)... Its just with you saying the walls are thick and high , you appear, as I would describe the best way I can, to have curled back up into your "cocoon".... Which is absolutely fine, as long as you are happy being there... ( I've gone back into mine several times !)....
