A cool, sunny spring day. When the seasons are changing but they haven't quite picked a side yet.

I love the smell of fresh Chihuahuas in the morning , and the sight of them jumping up to see their mom (Mrs. C.)
Cats goofing is always nice too.

Woodsmoke, especially on a late Autumn night. (Smell).
Fresh mown grass. (Smell).
Chrysanthemums. (Smell).
The sky - day or night. (Sight).
Lamplights in the twilight or dark. (Sight).
The Sea in all of her moods. (Sight and sound).
Finding the cool part of cotton sheets on a hot night. (Feel).
Early morning and its coldness. (Sight, feel and smell).
And loads more - don't get me started!

I live in a rural area that edges into the backcountry, in a mountain valley in western Canada. If I walk into the woods, I'm in one of the stands of birch, hemlock, cedar, douglas fir, and pine trees. Among the trees, you walk on brown-duff ground imbued with mingled sweet-scented tree gums, oils, and resins. The ground is sometimes dotted by fiddleheads (young bracken ferns) growing from it, but the mild north-facing slopes grow thimbleberry and wild ginger (which have their own scents that add to the rest).

THIS.
Temporary and fleeting, but oh-so-satisfying.
