Yup, Venus is very important, at least in love relationships.
And as I said, I don't think it's something you could change or 'grow' out of. It's simply who and how you are in the areas that Venus rules.

Yes, you're very on point about Venus
My soulmate's Venus in Aquarius means that he is attracted mainly to someone who stands out intensely from the crowd both in appearance and attitude, outside of mainstream, behaves in unconventional "counterculture" ways - basically me in a nutshell
There's also the aspect that he needs the most, mental stimulation, which goes well with my Jupiter in Gemini
However there had been challenges and roadblocks at times in communication, as my Rising sign squares his Venus
I find that astrology can be very specific, particular and eye-opening in that way
