Launch of Mars Rover "Curiosity"

The Mars Science Laboratory (a rover nicknamed "Curiosity") was launched from Cape Canaveral at 1002 local time (1502 GMT). It is traveling toward Mars at 10 km/s, and will land in the Gale Crater on 6 August 2012. Overall, it''s about the size of a small car, has six wheels and can play the ukelele.

The horoscope for the launch is a very nice one indeed. It promises a "bountiful" final outcome. This horoscope strongly emphasizes "exploration of the unknown" (Mars is the Leading Planet of a Locomotive Pattern, and is the "spearhead" of the whole mission); Ruler of the Horoscope Saturn is in the 9th House of "distant lands, and expansion of knowledge." Jupiter, ruler of both Sun (purpose) and Moon (acquisition of what is necessary for survival and well-being), although retrograde, is parked right on the 4th Angle (very powerful) in the practical and substantive sign of Taurus, and not only holds the 4th Angle (Final Outcome of Anything) but is also the Trailing Planet of the whole pattern, and so symbolizes "how things will turn out." Jupiter is the planet of Bounty (we will learn a lot), Higher Knowledge, and Expansion.

The "Locomotive Pattern" symbolizes "Drive, and the Attainment of Practical Obectives, Practical Accomplishment." The Moon is brand new in the chart; both Sun and Moon are in Sagittarius (again, exploration of what is distant and unknown, expansion of knowledge, etc) and this implies that this mission to Mars will mark the beginning of a new phase in space exploration. The North Node lies between Sun and Moon, with the Sun still in the south and the Moon now in the north and moving northward; this mission will unveil things unexpected that will change our perceptions and point us to a new path (substantiated by Mars, the leading planet...Mars takes new paths, is the explorer, and planet of New Departures).

The chart tells a lot more about this mission, but in short, it is successful and will bring unexpected benefits and understanding, and will set our feet on a new path.

Has NASA finally hired an astrologer? They sure needed one the day before they launched Challenger.

I saw this on the news...all I thought was what the White Brotherhood said in transmissions in the 70s -(if you believe in that sort of ET communication, that is)
that there are spirits living on our Moon and here we are landing this 3rd Dimensional Apollo thing there.

Well, they gave the evil eye to those astronauts
giving them an eery feeling meaning, "Knock it off, you don't belong here!"

I've heard there are other dimensional spirits on all the planets,
not just in the astral worlds...I mean, I don't know.

Now I sound like a psycho.......where's that delete button!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

What is Nasa's goal here?

I would assume the goal is knowledge and understanding. In the article I read it said that Gale Crater had been selected for exploration because it holds deep alluvial sediments and that scientists are interested in finding out if life does, did or could have existed on Mars. Naturally, there are other unspoken objectives.

It may be that NASA is trying to establish contact with Beings from the 11th Dimension, but sadly the Directors of NASA have not seen fit to include me in the Privy Council.

Has Mars recused itself from the predictive horoscope chart due to potential conflicts of interest?

On the contrary, Mars being conflictive in nature, he has even swaggered into the cloistered halls of Congress, where the House Ways and Means Committee has been heard squabbling behind closed doors. Mars rules budget cuts as well as exploration.

Here's a bit more information on "goals."

On Aug. 9, the golf cart-sized rover [Opportunity] relayed its arrival at a location named Spirit Point on the crater's rim ("Endeavor Crater".) Opportunity drove approximately 13 miles (21 kilometers) since climbing out of the Victoria crater.

"NASA is continuing to write remarkable chapters in our nation's story of exploration with discoveries on Mars and trips to an array of challenging new destinations," NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said. "Opportunity's findings and data from the upcoming Mars Science Laboratory will play a key role in making possible future human missions to Mars and other places where humans have not yet been."

The possibilities and results of the rovers also show how ridiculous it is to have manned space missions beyond the earth's orbit. There is no justification, economic, biological or social for this in terms of benefit/cost ratios.

Or to put it another way.. One a half billion of cash money. Tell that to a starving child in Africa or to that childs mother.

I think they are going for life in any D!

This may be part of their letting the public get used to the idea of life elsewhere in the Universe.
