Maybe I will do a whole bag of special dark Hershey kisses.

Now that sounds perfect especially the Hershey xxxxxxx, who needs fondues and fountains when we can use what we have...

There are many stories that are similar.
I am not real familar with Thunderbird and Whale stories.
I had assumed balance was a major theme.Plus Thunderbird is always fighting against destructive forces.
T.bird and whale specifically it seems tsunami warning and also T.bird gifting
the whale for food to combat starvation seem to be general themes.

But here is a few vids.
All these vids. tell a bit and all of them together are about 10 mins.

I just like saying "fondue".
Plus my Mother had a nice fondue pot.
But I'm not to proud to melt my chocolate on the dashboard.

Thanks ImthatIm.
Because we do have similar imagery - I had for a long time wondered if the story had other similar elements to it as well.

Our story (I trust) originates from Lake Ladoga - a Lapp wilderness, proto-Saami area (from where Nils-Aslak's ancestry and mine) moved up North (though different routes) And no - we were/are not Russians:

No whales in that lake, so the story tells of a giant pike.

I am not too clear of the essence of that story either, but what I gather, it is the Eagle/Thunderbird (Upper World) having a battle with the Pike of the realm of the dead, the Underworld.

The Eagle/Thunderbird devours the Pike leaving only its head, it's jaws.

Out of those jaws a string instrument was built:

I really do like this illustration:
https://i.ytimg.com/vi/rs7OSuzMLBs/maxresdefault.jpg

My interpretation:
Death still has its jaws, but no real substance (pike-body-dark-underworld to get stuck in forever).
Inside the jaws I see the Thunderbird and above it the Central Sun when after death the Light of Spirit illuminates the dawn of Totality …..

A kind of Shamanic Easter story.
There is no Death. The Spirit overcame it.

So, one kind of sings the death, no-death lullaby to all sentient beings:

Thunderbird/ Thunder Beings are told of fighting mainly a type of underwater monster figure in many cultures. So your Pike would fit right in along with other cultures.

Example:

Quote:
The Ojibwe version of the myth states that the thunderbirds were created by Nanabozho for the purpose of fighting the underwater spirits.

Oh!!!! perfect timing on that one.

How interesting, - the many and varied stories about Thunderbirds.

Curious. I think it was them Christians who called those of ours: “The Devil’s Fields”:

Just about everything had to be from the Devil. Talking about what one pays attention to LOL.

The obsession with Sin and the Devil certainly shows what they were/are focused on, sad...
