That happened all the time in my house. But we always experienced everything in twos. My mother opened her bedroom door which connected to the dining room where I worked on my computer. She yelled at me to stop pounding on her door. I told her I didn't, and she said Well tell whoever pounded on my door to stop. I told her I was sitting here, and no one pounded. I heard nothing.

The next day when my son was taking a shower. He opened the door and yelled stop pounding on the door. I again told him no one is pounding on your door. I've been here the entire time and no one even walked past your door. He said he heard very loud pounding. I heard nothing. Then I told him the same thing happened to mom yesterday. It has to be the ghost.....LOL

It's good you are not thinking anything paranormal in this situation. You know even I get this issue that the other person can hear things but not me. It is because we hear music on loud, so the hearing issue generates. Or maybe the other person is just pranking you.
