Sadhguru on the cause of violence and its solution...

Insightful article by Sadhguru on the cause of violence and its solution...

Quote:
Violence does not necessarily mean you go out and kill someone. You are angry, you are irritated, you cannot sit still – this is violence. If we do not root it out from its innermost core, peace will not happen. The science of Yoga is just this: learning to harness and direct your energies in the right way, so that who you are finds its ultimate expression. If you do not allow this energy which you call as life to find its expression, it naturally tries to find its way out in violent ways. ~ Sadhguru

Whilst acknowledging what the wise sage has said, the shifts we choose are on an individual basis. Mindfulness as a collective is rare, maybe Japan is an exception, from what we read or hear about.

Ultimately, it’s to do with awareness. If we sink into stupor (tamas), our reflex instincts take over, hence animal like rage, lust etc.. A chain is only as strong as it’s weakest link, so food for thought as to where we stand.

Love is the answer to overcoming violence. Easy. Only if we love one and other can we then stop violence directed at others.

I think he's talking about Anger Emotional Repression.

Anger allows a person to say "no", though repressed anger can be the cause for wars.

More information on the Emotional Repression Releases:

This entails "wishing others to find the love of their lives".

Sadhguru is talking about channeling the life energy to constructive purposes and enlightenment, failing which the life energy is bound to dissipate itself in destructive or violent ways.

Awareness or meditation can help us observe negative emotions within oneself dispassionately, and thereby dilute it totally. It also enhances positive emotions in the process.

He might be talking about releasing the Anger Emotional Repression.

Both repressing or suppressing can be psychologically unhealthy in the long run.

Being aware or witnessing the emotion of anger can ensure the emotion is diluted totally without leaving any psychological residues.

The cyclone is chaotic at the periphery while calm at the center.

Present moment awareness helps one to be centered and calm, and ensure that one is not coerced into peripheral chaos by the strong winds of reactivity and negativity.

It does take a certain amount of austerity and spiritual exercise to be aware and equanimous, and this is the homework which each human being has to do for himself or herself .

'The highest quality of the mind is equanimity based on full awareness of reality.' ~ S.N.Goenka

People use the Anger Emotional Repression to say "No" to others, though prolonged Anger Emotional Repression without release can result in actions, and thinking patterns or thoughts having the Anger Emotional Repression.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
