I think you are exactly as you are, but change is inevitable and you can't stay the same.

i suspect that spiritual awakening is the point at which someone realises they are not complete and have a lifetime to achieve completeness.
I believe someone is the total of their experiences to date through life, thus they have the material to be complete up to that point. But to me being complete means being self aware which takes much contemplation supported by ruthless honesty - to comprehend those experiences, a process that unfortunately changes ones perception of them!
Honesty (about oneself) can be cultivated even if sometimes it's painful.
I suppose one should know who they were all along by when they reach the end of their material time here. Isn't that what spiritual development is about?

Hello
I see it as the infinity symbol with no clear beginning or clear ending like a loop we are on that goes with us from life to life experience to experience.
We might feel that we never open spiritually but we do grow older and have life changing experiences along the way. We might not at time feel we even matter in the world or have anything we offer to existence. Yet we all leave our DNA behind when we go.
I had a NDE that changed the life path I was on, I had a long relationship that was not good but too if I had not had that relationship experience I would not be whom I am today. Things unfold for a reason a path that one had to walk in this lifetime. I was blessed to have a new lease on life and a new relationship that is good and balanced. Too without the past I would not be in this relationship.
I do not feel that we ever find that final place maybe we just keep looping.
Lynn
