337 Dead Whales

Hello

In the Chilean coast at least 305 bodies and 32 skeletons of a whale were found via aerial/satellite photography - there are possibly more carcasses on certain areas that hasn't been picked up by satellite. The cause of death of the Sei whales is unknown, but human intervention has been ruled out. These Sei whales are considered endangered.

Quills Quiver - I have read in past articles that under water sonar from military submarines are driving whales to shore to try to escape the long traveling loud high shreaking. I'm not convinced that humans have nothing to do with this.

Sorry for the late reply. I read all the articles in relation of the 337 dead whales and they all rule out human intervention. Scientist investigators are speculating the cause of death and is to believe that "red tides" (blooms of toxic microorganisms) is killing off these endangered whales, but of course it is a theory. Red tides was known for the mass death of marine mammals in the past, so there is a possibility to have a connection with the 337+ dead Sei whales. If I could I would remove my post on "humans intervention was ruled out" - I believe you have a point and that is a possibility on why many whales were on shore. I will keep an update.
