So many systems of belief have their own "hells", and I'd love to hear how different users here would choose to define it.
Does hell look like Betty Boop: 'Red Hot Mama'? does it look like a black experience-less pit of nothing, or does it look like a place of suffering that helps a soul better itself, forgive itself, and eventually ascend?

How would YOU describe Hell, Vince?

The definition of hell is everything that isn't heaven, so right now this is hell. We have the free will to remain here as long as we want, instead of entering into the Truth. Death isn't a ticket or required. If you die, you'll be where you are now and you'll remain who you think you are now until you surrender to the Truth. Think of being you for eternity, would that not become hell eventually?

The existence of negativity is only perceivable by negativity. It doesn't exist beyond itself. You see something wrong outside of yourself however you created what you're seeing. That's what the 'Judge not lest ye be judged' bible verse means. Judging the outside is like judging yourself in a mirror.

Hell is in my world a sinister place of death and despair. God as an spirit has the abillity to dream and the product we call demons comes from within this spirit who also carries it all within its sphere of influence(The multi-verse).
So Hell is all in the mind of God.

How long do people stay in such places? Until they have had enough and start to look for a way out. This means they have to raise their vibrations and become receptive to higher energies.

I thought this was a good way to put it.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

There's a song, quite popular a few years ago 'What you believe is true', and so it is.
True reality (the only one we can know) is represented by the world in which we live - and oddly we all live in different worlds but the premises we accept reflect and form the attributes and values which we hold as being valid.
The world in which we live is a world of matter, of material, of, to us, invisible energy residing in atoms which combine into molecules and then create forms of all kinds.
The cause of all these forms is simply mind, we are nothing other than mind and matter - and these two elements or aspects is all there is. Mind is a creator of blueprints.
The power of the human mind - as we call it, allowed you to create yourself in your mother's womb. There are other aspects of mind which are visible and form the outside world(s) as we know them. Other aspects of the same mind in fact.
It follows that there is no real truth, anything approaching real truth is created by imaginations of all kinds.

When we die there is no soul or spirit which continues. There is only that part of you which we call consciousness or awareness, this awareness, a constant giver and receiver of feedback, moves in free 'space' to mainly observe its own existence.
This awareness is part of a constant evolution - an evolution devoted to turning the chaos of its beginning into the last possible perfection. (we call this 'perfection', using our innate knowledge, 'Heaven'.)

That Vietnamese rice planter, up to his knees in water probably has a better idea of why he is here than does the Pope in his finery.

Consciousness or Awareness, in other words, our soul.
As you probably know, I remember my birth from falling through darkness to landing on something which felt like a bed, to being in a lovely comfortable place, to having a scalpel on either side of my head, thinking to mysely i'm going to have a long head, to going down the rigid birth canal, to first seeing the world.to then trying to return to a higher vibration and back to this world, but I couldn't then i was born.
So yes, we do have a body, or a suit of armour and yes, this is a lower vibration and it is real to us from the moment we are born. There is another vibration, I know tiis to be true that we return to when we pass.
Hell is a state of mind that only exists if you think about it.IT IS NOT REAL.

This is correct IMO regarding the lower astrals - I seen some of those ugly faces there several years ago, just drifting, miserable, when I was struggling and vibes were low, and I connected to them in meditation for months before my Angels shifted them - I was meant to see this 'my teaching' - as Jesus says 'whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life'... we should be kind and helpful on our journey, especially the gifted one on here, beyond the call of duty...

What iamthat says reads right, and its going to be dark times for some for a long time, better to be kind and make a difference to someones life, sharing knowledge that people here have - teach others who don't know, to be fair and helpful to others - as simple as that, be kind...

From reading some of the out-of-body books, I get the impression that heaven or hell is a human group mind construct.

What this means is that they're constructed because energy is moulded into form by the mind and when something is thought-of as the same by many people, then it becomes a more permanent structure. So, for example, if many people believed that Heaven was a bunch of clouds floating along with angels playing harps on each cloud, then that 'Heaven' would be created from those thoughts of all those people, so that the folks who believed that, could go there after death of the physical and experience their 'Heaven'.

So there are as many 'Heaven's as you can imagine, all in different areas of the energy universe, separated from the next one by an energy wall so one does not get mixed in the the next and everyone can experience their own Heaven in their own space. If your parents believed the same thing as you do, then you may well find them in the same 'Heaven'.

This is the meaning of "you go (after death) to the level where your energy dictates" because as you believe, so your Heaven is where you go. You go there until you start to question the group construct (example: angels on clouds playing harps) and then your mind has become more open to other things, places, realities being possible. Once that happens, then you are on your journey to bigger and better places and other beings can come in and direct you away from your Heaven/Hell to somewhere better and the progression of your spirit/soul.

Of course, this is only what I have read and none of us really knows how it will be until we get there. Even the people who believe they know and have experienced it cannot necessarily convince us that this is how it will be.

So...with this model of Heaven/Hell all the religions are correct in that there IS a Heaven or a Hell just like they say and until you start to question that created reality, you will experience the Heaven or Hell of your beliefs.

Unfortunately, this model also accounts for the gambler, the porn addict, the gaming addict, the TV addict, and every other habitual practice you may have because as below, so above. Your belief/Heaven/Hell is created for you to live in. You just spend all your time doing what you enjoyed doing until the perfectness of your ex-human situation fades and you start to realise that there is more to life/death than just playing games, watching TV, gambling, etc.

Since time is a feature of this Earth reality, there is no time there so you can be there for many Earth years and it will not matter or seem like a short/long time. It is the same with our dreams, time is not important or does not correlate to waking Earth time.
