Congress can't agree on a budget so the federal Govt will shut down temporarily. Anybody who works for the govt will be without a pay check for a while.

Might want to stock up on basic canned foods, water, etc because the economy will suffer even more so than already is.

Apparently it will only take 3 days of no trucks coming to the food stores before food will be depleted off the shelves.

Only supposed to last for 6 months but probably not even that long. If it happens it isn't supposed to be an armeggedon or something to even worry over right now, it doesnt have the scare that y2k had or anything, even though that was bogus.

So that's all the info I got out of that conversation. Was just merely small talk. Who knows what will happen. Guess we'll see in a few days, wooo!

Thanks for the interpretation earthbella, I'm glad I don't work for the government right now. And it has happened before in the past, where everything shut down for 3 days, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again, for a longer period of time. I really hope something good comes out of it, instead of just empty air.

I've never heard of that happening before. When has everything shut down for 3 days in the past? Curious, not doubting at all :)

ah! no wonder you're displeased with the storms. we didn't get any tornados here. just a lot of lightening, some excellent boomers, a bunch of wind and some much needed rain.

we've been pretty lucky this past decade. we had a couple of medium hurricanes like 6-7 years ago but not any REALLY bad ones since Andrew. i drove through Homestead after Andrew and the wreckage was truly impressive. i've lived in Florida most of my life, been through many hurricanes and i've never seen such a mess as Andrew left in his wake.

of course, even Andrew didn't do what Katrina did.

I've heard of David Wilcock's divinecosmos.com before but I am not convinced of any of it yet.

me too, both my father (insurance) and step mother (uni) work for the state and the job market sucks already(I can't get a job), I really hope it doesn't get worse..if it does get worse I hope they tear the bandaid off quick so to speak. Just a complete utter crash, hate this slow crash. It feels like we are bleeding to death by a "tiny" wound that can't clot. Quite happy I am going to live out at the boondocks starting Saturday.

Perhaps I should know this answer, but why may I ask?

Same reason they are going to shut down this year. Both parties can not come to an agreement on budget so they are looking to shut down. It's probably just a scare tactic to try and force an agreement.
