Initiation and a spiritual friend
This past years I realized something: That we need a teacher.
As a noob or tought by the internet we have so many question and the practices are harder to do because we need or initiation or to do other steps first.
I realized nowadays it's rare to search for a traditional teacher that would share the knowlage of millions of shamans or yogis from before, people prefer to go search on the web...
I don't know if anyone here tryed to do a bachler degree from the web? But I have to say it's nearly impossible unless you are Einstein or Tesla. The is so much content to learn from that we don't know it's there, that it exists, so we won't even look for it much less have a teacher to correct us or to give us some tips.
Teachers don't go on the web, in the web we find a lot of new age content wich has it's roots in shamanis but no real teachers. The teaching that a spiritual friend has to share requires no internet, it just requires it.
For the guys that talk that buddha tought that to attain elightment you need to follow you path it's not true, if it is true then don't learn anymore, as you don't really need a teacher. IF you do need a teacher why not a buddhist teacher then? It would make an awfull lot of sense.
Just sharing some spiritual teachers (Gurus) and old roots paths:
