Was CERN responsible for whatever happened on December 21, 2012?
People thought the Mayan Calender ending meant the end of the world would occur, but it didn't. However I think CERN did something to where they found a particle that destroyed our world. The late Stephen Hawking warned CERN if they ever found the Higgs particle that our world would be destroyed. However, I think we've been living in either a parallel universe or a simulated reality of some sorts. That would explain why the world starting going downhill around 2013-2014 and got gradually worse, each year. There never used to be so much political drama or toxic opinions on various forms of entertainment, such as movies, TV shows, and video games. It all started getting worse after 2012. Then there's the whole Mandella Effect and how people somehow remember things differently. I don't know what happened, but something clearly happened on December 21, 2012 and our world hasn't been the same since.

interesting note on the topic... before 2012 it was easy to find the date of the end of the mayan calendar on the internet (I think it was the 22nd not the 21st because I remember thinking it did NOT occur on the solstice at the time I read it). Now all the references I have been able to find are either silent or claim it was the 21st...
but maybe my memory is faulty, or maybe I just forgot how to look things up after 2012

In 2011 this forum was much about the Mayan calander, which turned out to be nonsense. I've been around for a while, and seen many predictions fail to eventuate. I don't know what's going to happen next, but I've seen ups and downs, and I expect that will continue.

Yes things were way more relaxed in the 2000s. It got worse with social media, which rewards extremist opinions. It also got worse around mid 2010s, because leftists went on a crusade as counter response to a certain loud-mouthed blond haired man. Next up we got all these crazy ideas becoming not just odd opinions in left wing papers but becoming mainstream, all this Marxist activism.
The 2012 was rubbish, and that was known beforehand. I'm sure new dates will be cooked up and books will be sold.

the idea that the world would end in 2012 was largely a misinterpretation of the Mayan Long Count calendar. The Mayans didn't predict an apocalypse; instead, their calendar marked the end of a major cycle. In Mayan cosmology, time is divided into cycles, and 2012 marked the end of a 5,125-year cycle, which began in 3114 BCE. this was simply the end of a "Great Cycle" and not the end of the world.
what this meant symbolically was more like a "reset" or a renewal, rather than a literal doomsday. some interpretations suggest it was the transition into a new age, which could symbolically align with the idea of an astrological shift, though the "Age of Aquarius" isn’t directly linked to the Mayan calendar. the shift into a new age in astrology refers to the precession of the equinoxes, where each "age" spans roughly 2,160 years and corresponds to different constellations in the zodiac.
according to many astrologers, we are in or near the "Age of Aquarius," symbolizing innovation, collective consciousness, and a shift in values, but this concept developed independently of the Mayan system. so, while the Mayan calendar cycle change in 2012 and the astrological "Age of Aquarius" both reflect ideas of renewal or new beginnings, they're separate traditions.
