Foods rich in Omega3's will help with the anxiety as well as depression. Like walnuts, salmon, flax seeds, and avocados.
Also the brand Yogi has lavender and chamomile tea in one tea bag which will calm some of the anxiety and help sleep as well. That's what I drank when I had severe anxiety that caused insomnia.
One thing I would avoid is caffeine as that will make the anxiety worse.
Peppermint oil will be good, as well as Lavender oil. Rub at temples, back of the ears, chest, it will definitely help. Make sure when you use lavender, is when you're not driving or doing activities, just relaxing.
Salt bath with lavender and chamomile oils in it will definitely help soothe the anxiety, make sure the water is above chest level, so the warm water will help you feel like the pressure in your chest be relieved. It works wonders. Listen to relaxing nature sounds, like birds chirping, or ocean waves with music while you take a bath.
I hope this helps you.

I never saw this thread...Honza - you are exactly correct.
It is astounding how a few drops on your tongue of Flower Essences can take care of anxiety and so many other things!!!
And this is coming from a past skeptic!

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

When my daughter was a little girl her sensitivity to noise was quite profound. She would have full-blown panic attacks during thunderstorms. She would start to get anxious at faint rumblings. She would wake us up in the middle of the night hysterically sobbing because of a loud summer thunderstorm. Bach had come out with the Rescue Remedy Pastilles and I started giving them to her when there was a thunderstorm. Over time -- months later, I realized we had had a very loud thunderstorm that night (woke me up) and she slept through it. Now she's perfectly fine with the noise. Our chocolate lab had a thunder phobia just like my daughter. I started giving her a couple of the pastilles and she stopped being afraid of them too. My current dog, is a malinois mix and she's on Trazadone for her anxiety but she still gets quite anxious and is inconsolable during thunderstorms too. She wouldn't take the pastilles when I gave them to her so I resorted to pilling her myself. They're working. We're still at the stage where she's getting anxious but she'll self-soothe quickly and go behind the couch and lay up against the brick wall and fall asleep. Rescue Remedy is a powerful flower remedy.

A couple of things that I know help my daughter with her anxiety is the b vitamin inositol. It is a sweetish powder so very palatable. It is dissolvable in warmish liquids. Read up on it, it's good stuff. You can buy it balk on Amazon and save money. The vendor I use is Bulk Supplements. You should take it every day according to what I've read about it.

Another supplement is lithium orotate. It is an OTC supplement and contains a tiny amount of lithium -- usually 4mg-5mg per tablet. My daughter takes it when she can't shut her mind off. Other reviews on Amazon report improvement in anxiety as well as ADHD symptoms for those who deal with that.

The herb Hawthorne Berries is helpful if your symptom includes a thudding heart as it is a cardiac adaptogen. It has a mild effect on anxiety.

Hibiscus is another herb that helps with anxiety. My daughter likes TAZO's Passion Tea for when she's anxious. It has hibiscus flowers in it. It is quite sour though so you might want to sweeten it a bit. And don't add milk or it will curdle (ask me how I know, lol).

L-Theanine is another calming supplement.
