Bunny Worlds First Lab Grown Hamburger Patty

I heard about this a while back. The worlds first hamburger grown in a lab was served in London. It'll probably be a long time before it's a replacement for animals.

What do you think?

I heard about this today, made from stem cells of some kind, it's supposed to look like hamburger but apparently does'nt taste so good.

It would be nice if it did replace eating beef.

I have a great idea. Instead of culturing "beef" from cow stem cells, why not go for a protein that is in endless supply instead. Grow the beef from Human stem cells !
Well, it makes just as much moral and scientific sense. There are non-animal protein sources available and most are palatable, unlike this present concoction !

i don't think i'll be eating it. mind you, fat free, might make it enticing to some. apparently it takes 5000 "grown" threads to make one burger.

The burger is derived from animal cells - in this instance cow cells - so will never be suitable for vegetarians, vegans or Hindus.

We already have veggie burgers made from healthy, nutritious natural (plant) food, which makes a lot more sense than eating processed food manufactured in a laboratory....

Yes, a fair point.

I think we're already eating chemical laden ****, full of carcinogens like aspartame and msg, along with processed sugard which slowly shut our systems down effectively killing us from the inside - why not throw in a lab made hamburger, I'm sure it will be closer to "food" than a macdonalds anyway..

This is what's wrong with society, wake up and smell the coffee, or wake up and smell the synthetic coffee substitue created by a mass producing, multi billion dollar corporation that is killing us for financial gain ahhhhhh, bliss :)
