Conscious parenting
Your children won’t remember what you say
Your attitude will be how they play
How you meet them, as things are
Your gift in your presence will go far
If you present to them your world in disarray
Where your troubled, unmoved, not completely engaged
They learn, they feel, how your energy displays
The moment, the experience as you model and play
Their play is important to discover and learn
Their mistakes, their struggles, the things they yearn
Little beings, bold, outspoken, tantrums and screaming
Will never build them broken, if you as the presence, stay calm in their streaming
If you as the adult tell yourself, it’s all ok
Their little bodies building self, will design as you play
Understanding that life, as they are, as things will be
Is all acknowledged and valued in your peace they see
As you feel towards them in all things they feel
This moment awakens as a moment with zeal
To continue to be themselves, as they are
Never lost in a sea of another’s self, past
But develop, be free, expand into them
With a sense of belonging, you forged in their den
