Parenting and Wicca?

I am currently in the week long wait to find out if we are expecting (our first). My guides (3 of them, although only Declan speaks to me, the others hang around in the background), conveyed to me in September that I should not go through with the plan to have my tubes tied. I figured, I was 31, didn't have any kids and probably wouldn't. Then Declan became adamant that I not go through with it, as I was indeed supposed to have a very special child, a girl. Tonight, as I lay in the tub, wondering if I am indeed expecting (I am approximately 1 month late), Declan put his hands on my womb and told me that Willow Raine or Willow Grace (whichever we prefer), will be born on July 11th (this coming year). Hubby and I would love a child, although in all honesty were were not TTC. I kinda worry that maybe it is all in my head, but I can't deny what my guides tell me, nor what my body is telling me. I keep being told to test on the 4th of this month.

Anyways, enough of my rambles, lol. I was wondering, if anyone had suggestions for learning how to parent while keeping your Wiccan Faith? I know nothing about parenting (well, the basics from helping my brother with his 9 month old, and seeing friends and their children). But I worry about her losing her abilities and all of the good stuff kids have.

I guess I am just worrying, lol. But, any hints or ideas or anything would be eternally grateful

Im sure there are ways of doing it, i my self have no children yet (im only 20) but try and look at it like christian/catholic families raise children without loosing faith. I would try and incorporate wicca into aspects of her childhood, teach bits of the reed etc etc.

And to teach a child "do as you will, but harm none" isnt a bad thing.

Wynd, I think a better way for a child is the pagan way and let them make their own mind later. So, the "green" life style, respect for the Earth and all life. Lots of walks in the countryside, teaching as you go. Point out different plants and flowers. Buy some simple books [ heavy on pictures ! ] to show what to expect and let the child loose with the book to "discover" things for themselves. The Wheel of the Seasons is also a good thing to teach.
See, no dogma, no prayers, no rede - just experiences

Thank you Norseman! That is exactly what hubby and I discussed last night. We don't really follow any one path, we learn and live as the universe teaches us But the way you put it is perfect, makes so much sense, thank you

Lostgirl, thank you so much Makes a lot of sense
