Perhaps this old guy might offer a caution?

It's easy to get carried away by the romance of contacting unseen individuals - spirits - BUT you should be aware that some may be attracted to you and they may not be the ones you'd choose to come.

Please remember that just because the individuals you may come into contact with are living in spirit forms it doesn't automatically mean they're saints and angels. Some may be genuine but others may be mischievous and mislead you concerning their intentions.

Anything worth doing can be tough but if you keep that thrill to the fore then you remember how 'worth it' it becomes. One of the first things I was taught to do is give what is called 'Proof of Survival', it's given so that the person you're talking to is in no doubt that they're in contact with a Loved One through you. That feeling knocks your socks off and just to feel that once is...

So maybe not being able to find the person is the Universe telling you to get your tail into gear and find out for yourself.

A sense of humor might be good. I suspect a lot of people put up guards, etc. when they are becoming a medium and that might make it hard to progress. Being 'open' might help ..... a lot.

Some individuals are naturally serious-minded about what they do, especially when they're dealing with the bereaved. Should they develop a light-hearted approach instead, one wonders?

The poster was dealing with developing so as to become a medium as opposed to being a medium.

A I mentioned being "open" which seems to help in developing a lot of different skills.

Having been bereaved I would much prefer to go into a light atmosphere and be with people with a sense of humour. I believe it helps with communication.
