I know judge dread and 2000ad . They were not my thing . I always think of them appealing to males more . Never actually heard of the last one.
I owned a newsagents for several years so am quite familiar with a lot of the comics which were mainly kiddies ones like "bob the builder"... "Mr tumble" etc LOL....
But have you seen the price of them now ??? They used to something like 2d when I was a kid but they are an average of about £4 now !!!!
Any parent with 2 or 3 kiddies mostly cannot afford this.
Be cheaper to buy proper books from the charity shop or borrow from the library ( That's what I used to do ).

Comics are indeed expensive. When I started buying them they were $0.60 to $0.75 each and you could go to stores and get older ones for $0.10 each. Now they average around $4.00 a book for the new ones and you're luck to find discount boxes where they sell books for a $1.00.

Most of what I buy these days are collected editions that have anywhere from three to as many as thirty stories in one book. I buy from websites that offer deep discounts on these books because the mark up is so high.

2000AD and all those others I mentioned were some hard core science fiction books. A lot of the writers and artists found their way over to the States in the 80s to work for the superhero books over here. Interesting stuff.
