Christian Buddhist?

Anyone know if there is a good Christian / Buddhist forum? I'm looking for a group to speak about both religions and not worry about being fired upon as a Heretic.

Hello Tirisilex.

I wonder if you have considered exploring the possibility of sharing your thoughts with those associated with the Quaker movement?--many of whom, in my experience during my youth, welcomed and supported enquirers from all denominations--and also those having non theist views.

As you will perhaps already be aware, the Quaker movement today is often called the Society of Friends.

Looking just now at Wikipedia I learn that there is a contact for the American Friends Service Committee on line--which may be of interest to you. afsc.org

Good wishes. petex

You can visit any Buddhist Forum and discuss any Religion. In the Temple I frequent there are Roman Catholic Priests and many Christians. who attend Classes.

Another Organisation that is extremely open to all is Unitarianism.....

Thich Nhat Hanh ( Plum Village ) incorporates Jesus into His Teachings and always refers to Jesus and Buddha as Brothers

Zen Buddhism has attracted many Catholic Priests, Nuns and Laity. If you consider Catholics to be Christians then its worth looking into as there is alot of stuff out there written by Catholics on Zen Buddhism. Also as has already been stated, Spiritual Forums has a very open, tolerant and compassionate view towards all faiths, paths and none. That has been my experience and were there is bullying or religious intolerance etc. it has always been dealt with by the moderators and people will always step in too to intervene. Best Regards. Joe.

The Prayer of St. Francis with the Bodhisattva Vow.

Lord,

Make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

Where there is injury, pardon.

Where there is doubt, faith.

Where there is despair, hope.

Where there is darkness, light.

Where there is sadness, joy.

May I be a safeguard for those who have no protection,
A guide for those who journey along the way;
For those who wish to go across the water,
May I be a boat, a raft, a bridge.

May I be a home port for those who yearn for landfall,
And a lamp for those who long for the light;
For those who are tired, may I be a resting place,
For all who need help, their servant.

O Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek

To be consoled, as to console;

To be understood, as to understand;

To be loved, as to love.

Like the great earth itself and other eternal things,
Enduring as the sky itself endures,
For the boundless multitude of living beings,
May I be the ground and vessel of their lives.

For every single thing that lives,
In number like the boundless reaches of the sky,
May I be their sustenance and nourishment
Until they pass beyond the bounds of suffering.

For it is in giving that we receive.

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.

It is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.

Great, also worth checking out Hugo Enomiya-Lassalle, a German Jesuit priest if so inclined.
