Spilling blood

as of soul pact
we dispensed with tact
and took up our stance
leaving outcomes to chance
and so blood was spilt
that made us wilt with guilt
for though we stood apart
we overplayed our part
forgetting who we are
during the friendly spar

now, we’d have kissed and made up
but our ego wouldn’t shut up
and so we had to be reborn
roles exchanged, object of scorn
as the gods watched dismayed
for the light of truth was slayed
since I was he and he was me
yet through the veil we failed to see

the ultimate reality

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Mind of our heart

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched —
they must be felt with the heart”
~Helen Keller

If we truly wish to awake,
on dark desires, apply a brake.
Living gently is a learnt art,
by employing mind of our heart.

Too long we’ve floundered in the dark.
Let’s ascend on an upward arc.
Time’s now for fear and soul to part,
by employing mind of our heart.

To know who we are, let’s begin;
by silencing our thought flow din.
We then feel bliss ignition start,
by employing mind of our heart.

Soul’s not a concept, it’s real,
known if we search with zest and zeal.
Pure joy peaks, adding love to cart,
by employing mind of our heart.

Our true essence is living light
shining within like a star bright,
when we deem all one, none apart,
by employing mind of our heart.

The truth is we are who we seek,
so simply stop energy leak.
Delight as bliss beats within dart,
by employing mind of our heart.

Kyrielle

A jolt

that that is held dear
believed as eternal
blown away in a flash
causing anguish
yet dispelling delusion

how fragile is life
and relationships
we are truly hypnotised
attempting to hold onto
wisps of smoke

after the hug and makeup
with all well again
we see a sabi sabi stain
as a reminder of destruction
and by grace resurrection

although in some cases
there is no sequel

Do we have free will

Where lies free will, if we be not awake,
enslaved by senses, in bondage to mind,
fears and desires unable to forsake,
floundering in darkness, as do the blind?
We know not who we are and yet we spar,
questioning not our conditioned belief,
so without purpose we’ve drifted afar,
having not resolve to turn a new leaf.
In states of waking, dreaming and deep sleep,
we find that in the labyrinth we’re lost,
so unless consciousness takes a big leap,
hemmed in thus, our soul pays a heavy cost.
Knowing that we know not, let us find out,
how may mind and heart become free from doubt.

How may mind and heart become free from doubt,
by knowing truth of soul and that of God,
that immune from fears that twirl us about,
gentling every touch, we give love our nod?
First things first, we must learn to stand erect,
by melding head with our tremulous heart,
doing always as conscience does direct,
that ego and soul do not stand apart.
The process then requires our surrender,
dwelling in silence, choosing to be still,
deeming all souls one, no hearts asunder,
in seamless resonance with divine will.
Reworded, we become a child again,
clinging neither to pleasure nor to pain.

Clinging neither to pleasure nor to pain,
our soul’s consciousness enters witness mode,
receptive and acceptant, free from stain,
nestled in bliss, makes the heart it’s abode.
Upon choosing to make love our mainstay,
we flow like the breeze with nonchalant ease
and doing nothing, ego falls away,
whereupon cravings of lower mind cease.
Free from desire, awareness self-aware,
beholds its luminescence with clear sight,
ready to share with souls who care to pair,
with effervescence of bliss beats delight.
The game of push and pull, was our mistake.
Where lies free will, if we be not awake?

Koan

sounds of silence
one hand clapping
most hear not
because they are napping

what is that
that does not come and go
we know not but can become
sublime elixir of life’s flow

if thoughts cease altogether
subject and object disappear
identity shorn, as the twice born
what’s that that does then appear

where lies fulcrum of a scent
wherefrom arises in hearts hope
what is the flavour of innocence
how does love with love elope

where within us is the seat of soul
how does wisdom within us seep
what is the source of our aliveness
why does head not into heart leap

why are we afraid to surrender
to relinquish imagined knowing
what prevents us to celebrate life
sans resistance, in trust flowing

In simple words

breath by breath
as our life renews
in truth we stand
in God’s shoes

He dwells within
giving life to form
we acknowledge not
so fail to transform

mind-body awareness
feels separate from source
owing to this delusion
we employ use of force

now we do need the ego
in order to survive
but if we neglect soul
how will we thrive

ego lies in head
love pulsates in heart
thus unless both align
life quest cannot start

liberation is simple
false identity we don
transient and illusionary
whence shorn we’re reborn

we’d do well to repeat
a million times if need be
we’re soul and not body-mind
reaffirm daily until we see

fears and desires recede
we live a life internalised
engaging with life as ordained
until our true Self is realised

just as water seeks its level
if we become an empty shell
God’s love and light fills us
and then all is well

Wake up oh pilgrim

Stupor pays a heavy cost,
for with soul awareness lost,
ignorance results in grief,
until we turn a new leaf.

Trapped outside but free within,
silence the way to begin,
whereupon ego recedes;
we follow, pulse of love leads.

Soul’s light, hitherto concealed,
is in timeless time revealed,
within our heart, where God dwells.
Hark ye not yet, bliss beat bells?

“Ramana queried, ‘who am I’ ~
If we know not, our life’s a lie”
~ quote by poet

Of all mysteries in the universe vast,
the one of highest relevance in our life role,
is to find out who we are, before we breathe our last.

All scriptures without exception affirm we are a soul
but how may we believe, unless we clearly see,
by unravelling this truth, mystics extol?

In bondage to desires, we are not free
and moreover transient is joy, lingering is pain
and we stand not erect, until head and heart agree.

Enslaved by cravings of ego, all our efforts are in vain,
for we see not the light, said to be aflame within;
our life wasted, measuring material gain.

Religion terrifies us, speaking of man’s sin,
a condemnation that in heart does not ring true,
so if we discard holy books, how then are we to begin?

Noticing fearsome fears and dark desires stick like glue,
these spiralling apparitions are fed by our mind,
thoughts which we unendingly renew.

Silence sets us free from ego’s bind,
wherein, in silence, we feel pristine presence stir
and in timeless time, we’re graced by divine caress kind.

When formless awareness chooses with love to concur,
we distinctly feel polarities within heart merge;
boundaries between God and us blur.

Beholding living light from within emerge,
we know without being told, this is our true essence,
definitive wisdom graced by God if our heart we first purge.

Let light of Self burst forth as a sublime effervescence
For this oh worthy hermit, is our quintessence
