However - does this equate to spirituality or just the revival of an ancient religious belief system?

Icelandics are very spiritual in the broadest sense. Short while back, there was a major construction road-building project cancelled because it was to run through an "elf-house".

I always find it quite surprising how Iceland kept the Norse torch going.. The sagas and associated folklore were primarily written in Iceland for some reason. What was happening in Sweden/Norway?
Xty was making inroads but I don't think that is the whole story. It doesn't surprise me that of all places Iceland is building this temple now!

Sunsoul [ not sure where you are in the world ] you might be surprised at Britain too. We are openly reverting to our pagan past, christianity was only ever a thin skin here. Pagan festivals are widely popular and the ancient holy places are still revered and attended. My local henge, Thornborough Henge, is as old as Stonehenge and always attracts large numbers on festival weekends.

I was wondering, but if there's going to be a temple for Odin, Thor and Frigg, what about the other deities?  Would it be open for the others too or will there be future projects? I remember reading that Freyja was very prominent at one time.
